A Cheap Wishlist!

Hey guys! As you know Christmas is around the corner, or well Black Friday is! So I've decided to gather up a "cheap wishlist"! And the bonus? Most of them are under $5!
Please note that some or most of these will be only sold as an e-reader. Also all of the summaries are from Goodreads.

Briar Thompson had it all. The right clothes, the right friends, the right car. Being popular was all that mattered. Her parents were rich and treated like royalty throughout the community. She thought her senior year of high school was going perfectly, until the night her drink was spiked at a party by one of her so called friends.
That was the night she met Chase McCree.
Chase wanted to go back to Montana. To the ranch and the wild, wide blue sky that went on forever. He wanted nothing to do with flashy cars or spoiled rich kids. But he found himself head over boots for the quirky cheerleader who turned her back on her social status. She befriended him when no one else would.
Shunned and hurt by the people who were once her friends, Briar flees with Chase to his family ranch in Montana. There she discovers another world, and apart of herself she never knew.
The cowboy wasn’t like anyone she’d ever met. The cheerleader wasn’t like anyone he’d ever met. Apart their lives didn’t seem to make sense, but together, they were chasing forever.

When Hollywood It Boy, Reid Alexander, arrives on location to shoot his next movie, his goals are the same as always—film another blockbuster hit and enjoy his celebrity status to the fullest while doing so. His costar is a virtual unknown with whom he had blazing hot chemistry during her auditions. The universe is lining up nicely to grant whatever he wants, as usual, until he’s confronted with unexpected obstacles on location like a bitter ex-girlfriend and a rival for the first girl to spark his genuine interest in years.
Emma Pierce just got her big break after more than a decade of filming commercials for grape juice, department stores and tampons, and more recently, bit parts in made-for-TV movies. Nailing the lead role in a wide-release film sent her agent, father and stepmother into raptures, and should have done the same for her. The Problem? Emma is experiencing a building desire to be normal, and starring in a silly, modernized adaptation of one of her favorite novels—opposite the very hot Reid Alexander—isn’t going to advance that aspiration.
Graham Douglas doesn’t fear playing the part of a nerdy dimwit; when it comes to choosing film roles, if it pays, he’ll do it. Besides, his friend Brooke Cameron snatched up the role of the bitchy hot girl and could use his help as a buffer, because her ex is the star. Graham has no problem keeping a handle on the situation, until he finds himself attracted to Reid’s costar, Emma, the girl Reid is pursuing full-throttle with his standard arsenal of charm, good looks and arrogance.

Brynn is completely broken-hearted, and the only reason she’s even going to Emily Mulally’s stupid party is to get revenge on her ex-boyfriend. So what if what she has planned is kind of sort of illegal? Aaron deserves it.
But when cute and popular Josh Noth catches her in the act, Brynn thinks she’s in trouble. Josh is a player, super popular, super hot, and known for being a little bit (read: a lot) of a kiss slut. So Brynn does her best to ignore the butterflies in her stomach, chalking it up to post-break-up craziness.
But Josh can’t stop thinking about Brynn. And suddenly, he doesn’t want to kiss any other girls. Ever. But will he be able to convince her that he’s for real?
KISSING PERFECT is the fourth novella in the romantic At the Party series by Lauren Barnholdt.

Shawn is the guy Ronnie Bird promised her life to at the age of fourteen. He's her soul mate. He's more uptight every day, but it's not his fault. His family life is stressful, and she's adding to it. She just needs to be more understanding, and he'll start to be the boy she fell in love with. She won’t give up on someone she’s loved for so long.
Luke is her best friend, and the guy she hangs with to watch girlie movies in her large blanketopias. He's the guy she can confide in before she even goes to her girlfriends, and the guy who she's playing opposite in Romeo and Juliet. Now her chest flutters every time he gets too close. This is new. Is Ronnie falling for him? Or is Juliet? The lines are getting blurry, but leaving one guy for another is not something that a girl like Ronnie does.
Shawn’s outbursts are starting to give her bruises, and Luke’s heart breaks as Ronnie remains torn. While her thoughts and feelings swirl around the lines between friendship and forever, she’s about to lose them both.

When Naomi Jensen is kidnapped, it takes her parents two days to realize she's missing. Escape isn't high on her list of priorities when all she has to return to is an abusive boyfriend and parents who never paid much attention to her. For the first time in her life she's part of a family-even if it is a family of criminals. But she's still a captive. In a desperate attempt to regain some control in her life, Naomi embarks on a dangerous plan to make one of her kidnappers think she's falling in love with him. The plan works too well, and when faced with the chance to escape, Naomi isn't sure she wants to take it.

10 weeks, 3 counselors...summer love shouldn't be this complicated.
Kay-Kay has known Alex since she was first a camper. He's always been her friend, the guy who gets her more than anyone else. Now, she's nineteen and suddenly he's become more. But with so much of her life still ahead of her, Kay-Kay isn't sure if risking her heart will be worth risking her future.
Jody is not the girl who goes after the hottie. She's the girl who sits in the corner with her steady boyfriend and observes. But when her boyfriend unexpectedly dumps her, and the Irish bartender seems interested... This might have to be her summer of firsts.
Sam doesn't do love. She's tested those waters and has no interest in nearly drowning again. But a summer away from the perfect guy isn't doing anything to heal her heart. Memories of Nate along with his constant texts lead Sam into a self-destructive spiral. And it's only when he forces his way back into her life that she learns the only way to save herself is to open her heart.

Bitterroot Crossing by Tess Oliver

Bitterroot Crossing

Tess Oliver

January 7 2011

Summary (off Goodreads):

A love triangle that crosses centuries . . .
For Nick Crush, the only thing cool about his town, Bitterroot Crossing, is the gang of outlaw ghosts that rise occasionally from the town’s swamp. But when he finds himself competing with the most notorious spirit and his own ancestor, Zedekiah Crush, for the affections of Jessie Sterling, suddenly the whole ghost thing isn’t so cool.
Jessie Sterling inherited her great-great-grandma’s shorter left leg and incredible beauty, a beauty that a century and a half earlier sparked a love triangle that ended in tragedy. Now Jessie leaves the safety of her grandma’s farm to attend high school in town . . . and Bitterroot Crossing will never be the same.

My thoughts:

This was a really quick read for me and it did keep me up all night. It was good in all of its fluffiness (The romance was fluffy, not the story line)! The leading men, Nick and Zedekiah, were lovely even with their downfalls. But if you are uncomfortable with the use of drugs, killing, and ripped up spirits, I wouldn't recommend reading this. But if you are able to over look those parts I would say go ahead and give this a shot!
I like the fact that Ms. Oliver brought in ghosts. I love reading ghost stories and this one is pretty unique. The fact that the whole town believes in ghost and has "daily" encounters with them is neat! They even have a bell/siren to tell them when the ghosts are coming out to play.
Now, like with The Infernal Devices, I loved both guys and was conflicted a bit with who I wanted Jessie to end up with. With Nick she has that undeniable connect. But with Zedekiah... Well he gave her a kitten! Zed was just so sweet and nice to her. Nick was nice too and had that whole protectiveness thing going on. But it all works out in the end.
Although I do have an issue with Rebecca (Spoilers ahead!). I understand why she jumped in front of the bullet. But why didn't she tell Zed how she felt before hand? They could have run away together or face the town together or something like that. It probably would have made a difference.
I loved the innocence Jessie has in the beginning and that at the end she's able to stick up for herself. She grows a little bit.
Would I recommend this? Yup. Anyone looking a quick read and crazy ghosts would probably like this.

My next review will be on a certain book that is being made into a movie. And it usually has this on the cover:

And before you say "Ooh! Tiger's Curse!", No. It's something else.

And with that, farewell!

November... The Month of Thanks

Hello and welcome! I'm am going to use this post to give thanks to the YA World. So let's begin!

The first thing I'm thankful for is for the new authors that came out this year. There were so many! So I would like to thank: Veronica Rossi and her "Under The Never Sky", Marissa Meyer and her "Cinder", Jodi Meadows and her "Incarnate", Jessica Khoury and her "Origin", and Wendy Higgins and her "Sweet Evil". These are just a few! There are more... but I'd like to leave room for more things to thanks!

The second thing I'm thankful for is the amazing "fictional" men that these wonderful authors create. So let's start off with Jace (Made by Cassandra Clare), Kai (Made by Wendy Higgins), Adrian (Made by Richelle Mead), Elder (Made by Beth Revis), Daemon (Made by Jennifer L. Armentrout), Ren (Made by Colleen Houck), The Vincent Brothers (Made by Abbi Glines), Every Single Guy Simone Elkeles Made, Ethan (Made by Julie Kagawa), Sam (Made by Jodi Meadows), Galen (Made by Anna Banks), Lucas (Made by

The third thing I'm thankful for is for our strong heroines. It's these characters that make females look stronger and maybe help girls in the real world discover them selves. Some of our strong heroines are Katy from Obsidian (Can you tell what my new favorite series is yet?), Clary from City of Bones, Kenzie from The Lost Prince, and Rose from Vampire Academy (I can't stop rereading this series! Addicting!).

P.S. Check out Beth Revis's contest!

Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Onyx

Jennifer L. Armentrout

August 14th 2012

Note: Second book in the Lux Series. First one is called Obsidian.

Summary (off Goodreads):

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…
Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.
Something worse than the Arum has come to town…
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes…
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

My thoughts:

Before I go on and on about the lovely Daemon I’ll start with our heroine, Katy. I’ve loved Kat since the first book. Spunky, sarcastic, and a total book nerd. She by far is one of my favorite heroines. But she does have some down falls in this one. For instance, she doesn’t know when to back down. Now I don’t want to give anything away (for those of you who haven’t read this book), but she should have listened to Daemon.
As for her friend choices, she does pick the best ones! I love Dee! But Katy was seriously pulling away in this book. But at least Kat acknowledges that she’s being a crappy friend.
Now as for Blake… I really, really dislike him. But who wouldn’t? I understood his reasons for what he did, but I can’t help but still hate his guts.
Then there’s Daemon. Swoon worthy Daemon. Gosh, he’s like a hot Sunday covered in alien fudge. (As weird as that sounds!) But just look at him!

Daemon has some of the best, funny, or romantic lines. For example:
“… But do you know what I thought about all day yesterday? All night? The one single thought I couldn’t escape, no matter how pissed off I am at you?”
“No,” I whispered.
“ That I’m lucky, because the person I can’t get out of my head, the person who means more to me than I can stand, is still alive. She’s still there. And that’s you.”
The reason I liked this scene so much, is because after all that’s happened in the book they, or well Kat, were able to express their feelings. Kat was finally able to say and kind of come to terms with what she was feeling and that what Daemon was feeling is very much real.
I found the plot smooth, but more fast paced towards the end. Towards the end it seemed all packed in. But it got to the point.
So all in all I would defiantly recommend this book for anyone who loves aliens and for those who even don’t. It doesn’t focus much on the Scifi aspect. But I would say to those who haven’t even heard of this series to start out on the first book, Obsidian.

Hello!

Greetings to those who are reading this! This is my first blog. And by the title, it's obviously a book reviewing blog. A book blog!
I'll try to post at least one or two reviews a week.
And in a post I'll give the name of the book and its author, publishing date, and summary, along with my thoughts of the book.
Simple, right?
All the books I will be gushing or bashing about will all be fiction, YA, and fantasy/romance/paranormal/ sort of genre. Some will be older and some will be newly released.
And the first book I will be reviewing…. I’ll give you a hint:

So be on the look out! I'll try to have it out Sunday.
C'ya!
